Walcha Show features many events to keep the public entertained. We are strongly supported by the Showmen’s Guild, many itinerant traders and showbag providers and car and machinery distributors.

The Speed Shear was a highly competitive event at the 2023 Show and will be held on Friday night, with the evening finishing with the grand finale event, ‘Walcha Versus the World’. The Sports Shear will be held on Saturday, grab your seat early to watch this popular event.

The Cattle Dog Challenge and Yard Dog Trials will again be highly competitive and entertaining, with the best dogs in the district and from around NSW and their handlers lining up to showcase their skills.

We look forward to the pavilions having an abundance of delightful blooms, plump farm produce and vegetables, delicious cooking, preserves, jams and jellies, arts and crafts made with love, fascinating photographs, a champion display of wool fleeces and to the cattle, sheep, horse and poultry competitions being well attended. Return events include Dog Jumping, Pet Competition, Ag Bike Competition, Demolition Derby, Fireworks, Fashion Parade, Lamb Judging and more. The Feature Breed in the cattle ring will be Limousins.

New to the 2024 Walcha Show will be:

  • An Aviary Bird Competition hosted by Armidale Caged Bird Club. For full details refer to the Show Schedule booklet or jump online at www.walchashow.org.au
  • The ribbon presentation for the 4th Annual Merino Flock Ewe Competition, with the top 4 flocks having a sample of ewes on display at the Show all day Friday.

Entertainment will include:

  • The Berkley Super Tank Fishing Show on Friday and Saturday.
  • A competitive Jousting exhibition on Friday evening, with fun, educational workshops for both kids and adults on Saturday.
