Sheep will only be accepted from a Monitored Negative flock enrolled in the Australian Sheep Johne’s Disease Market Assurance Program

Sheep will be penned on black plastic and straw, and each Stud will be separated by divisions.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: National Sheep Health Statement and Vendor Declarations to accompany all exhibits

OVINE BRUCELLOSIS, FOOTROT & JOHNES DISEASE

All Sheep must be from Ovine Brucellosis-free, Footrot-free and Johnes Disease-free flocks. Papers must be sighted before sheep are unloaded.

Johnes Disease: Exhibitors are required to have a signed health declaration that to their knowledge their sheep have not been in contact with any stock which have originated from a property which is known to have been infected with Johnes Disease, and are required to declare that Johnes Disease is not known or suspected to have occurred in the past five (5) years on the property from which the sheep have come.

All MN1-2-3 Status Studs will be penned and unloaded separately.

• Exhibitors are requested to forward any entries to the show office by the end of business on 2nd March 2023. Any exhibitor wishing to have sheep on the grounds on the Friday night should inform the chief steward so this can be arranged.

• All exhibited sheep must be bred by the Exhibitor.

• All entries are to have individual identification i.e. NLIS tag and or property PIC.

• All exhibitors are to have sheep penned before 9.00am Saturday 11 March 2023.

• Judging will commence at 9.30am Saturday 11 March 2023 and only after each exhibit has been inspected by the nominated inspector. Any exhibit not inspected or failing inspection for whatever reason shall be deemed ineligible to be exhibited in any class.

• All short wool, long wool and shedding sheep exhibited shall strictly adhere to the descriptions as shown in the breed schedule.

• All shedding sheep must have been shorn no more than 21 days prior to the show.

• The judge is empowered to transfer sheep which he/she considers to be entered in the wrong class.

• It is the responsibility of the Exhibitor to care for the welfare of their exhibits i.e. adequate feed and water.

• All water vessels used for exhibits must be located within the allocated penning and kept at least 30cm from the ground. Exhibitors are to supply water vessels

• A Maximum of three (3) entries per class per exhibitor.

• Other meat breeds not listed in schedule will be catered for if entered.

All vehicles are to be removed from the show ground immediately after delivery of exhibits. It is expected that all exhibits remain on display at the showground after the completion of judging. No sheep to be loaded before 4:00pm on Saturday 11 March 2023, loading must be done in the presence of a Steward.
